
After completing an elective term in London studying Psychiatry, Brent returned to New Zealand in 1987 and graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Otago Medical School.
Following a variety of general hospital rotations in Christchurch N.Z. and at St. George Hospital in Sydney he decided that General Practice would be the best balance of medicine and lifestyle, completing his General Practice training in 1991 and gaining Vocational Registration in Australia.
He is a specialist G.P. who worked in Perth for thirteen years until 2005 when he and his family decided on a ‘sea change’ and relocated to the Gold Coast where he has been happily based ever since.
He has experience with sports injury management having worked alongside doctors involved with the N.Z rugby union and Commonwealth Games teams as well as working as a ski field doctor during his rural attachments.
Away from work, Brent enjoys travelling with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He keeps fit with cycling, swimming and skiing and enjoys photography and music.
