There is access to onsite pathology and allied health services including psychology, osteopathy, physiotherapy, and exercise physiology. The doctors have long established relationships with specialists and public and private hospitals on the Gold Coast, making the transition to specialist and inpatient care much easier for its patients.

A consultation with your doctor is legally required by the Health Department for a referral to a specialist.
Fees may apply to appointments with Specialists, Allied Health, Pathology or Radiology providers. Please ask those providers for details of their fees when making your referred appointments
We encourage you to make an appointment to discuss results. However we do provide a results messaging service via our online booking partner. Patients are notified if results are ‘normal’, or if the doctor has recommended a ‘non-urgent’ or ‘urgent’ follow up appointment. It is the responsibility of patients to ensure they receive a message regarding their results, and to act on the advice provided. If you do not hear from the clinic, then please make direct contact via phone to follow up.
Mermaid Family Practice Medical is an accredited facility with AGPAL delivering the highest clinical and administrative standards recognised by our peers.
Our doctors provide house calls by request, and at the sole discretion of the doctor. After hours if you require a doctor, please call the National Home Doctor Service on 137425.` Often it is best to be seen in the surgery as the doctor has all the equipment and support necessary to practice the best medical care.
